Lab Mix Mother and Puppies
As you can see, Iâm here with my babies. Someone dropped of us here at the shelter while they were closed. Put all my babies in a box on their front porch, can you believe that? Iâm a very good mother, and am very friendly. My babies are just starting to eat on their own. As you can see, Iâm very, very skinny right now, so Iâll need a home that will put some meat on my bones. Iâm probably just 20 pounds. My babies are around 5 or 6 weeks old. My little white guy is a male. My babies are NOT available for adoption yet. They must be 8 weeks old to be adopted individually, which will be February 11. But donât forget about us!
If you would like to help the animals at the King George Animal Control shelter, you may make a donation to KGARL through Paypal. You do not need to have a Paypal account to do so. Your money will help us get the animals the proper vaccinations and vet work that they desperately need, and also help with pull fees and transportation costs.

Please know that King George Animal Control
http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/VA258.html has rules for adoption which are outlined in the following paragraphs.
(1) Spayed/Neutered cats or dogs may be adopted by anyone. Residents of King George have first option on available animals, over other individuals & organizations. Other eligible adopters may adopt available animals on a first come, first serve basis. Other Agencies & Certified Companion Animal Rescue Groups (501(c)(3) organizations) may also adopt animals per state law.
(2) Unsterilized animals may only be adopted by residents within King George, Westmoreland, Essex, Caroline, Spotsylvania, or Stafford Counties, and the city of Fredericksburg. Residents of King George have first option on available animals, over other individuals & organizations. Other eligible adopters may adopt available animals on a first come, first serve basis. Other Agencies & Certified Companion Animal Rescue Groups (501(c)(3) organizations) may also adopt animals per state law.
(3) If you are an individual (not representing a Certified Companion Animal Rescue Group) interested in adopting an "Unsterilized" dog or cat, and you do not reside in one of above mentioned Virginia counties, you will need to contact a qualified 501(c)(3) organization to adopt the animal for you. King George Animal Rescue League may be able to help pull an animal. Please contact Dani at shelterhelp@kgarl.org.
(4) Those certified organizations that express interest in dogs and cats, if you have not already done so, please ensure the correct documentation is on file with the KGAC so that you may pull animals. King George Animal Control will require the following required documents to be faxed (540-775-5770) to them as per Virginia standards: (1) the rescue organization must fax their 501(c)(3) determination letter, and (2) the rescue organization must fax their "No Cruelty Disclosure" statement to the VA animal control facility. The "No Cruelty Disclosure" statement must be on the rescue organization's official letterhead and signed by a head officer of their organization. In the "No Cruelty Disclosure" statement you may need to add some words to the effect that no one in the organization has been convicted of animal cruelty. After you have faxed your documentation, please contact the shelter to confirm that your documentation has been approved. Once your documentation is on file at King George Animal Control, you are eligible to adopt dogs, cats, and other animals.
(5) Special rules for adoption apply to the adoption of Pitbull and Pitbull-Mix dogs. Please see the King George Animal Control website
(http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/VA258.html) for details.
Adoption process Submitting an application does not guarantee a specific dog or cat. We strive to match the personality and needs of our foster dogs and cats to a family who will best fulfill those needs. If a family is not approved for a particular pet, it does not mean they will not be a good pet owner, it just means that their needs and the needs of the particular pet don’t match. We do not adopt on a “first come, first serve” basis. Once your application is received, the application process begins. We will review your application, check your references, check with your vet (if there are other animals in the household), speak to a landlord (if you rent), and arrange for a home visit. Once your application is pre-approved (meaning, we don't see any red flags based on our preliminary review of your application), the applicant may be invited to meet their potential family member at a location convenient to the foster family (usually at the King George Petco). Adoptions will NOT take place at the meet & greet, this is just a chance for us to get to know you and for you to spend time with our animals. After the meet and greet, we will ask that you spend some time thinking over your decision and we will do the same. After the application review process is complete (meet & greet with animal, home visit, reference/vet checks, background check, etc.), if all is acceptable to both adopter and KGARL and we all agree to move forward, we will schedule a day/time to finalize the adoption. The adopter will be asked to sign the final paperwork and we will collect the adoption fee (cash, check, or paypal are all acceptable). At this time, you can either pick up your pet, or schedule a time to do so. Adopters will be required to schedule an appointment with their veterinarian of choice within 15 days of taking your new pet home. Please note that we do not do same day adoptions. If you are applying for a popular animal (such as puppies, small dogs, or special breeds), it can take several days for our volunteers to reach a decision that is best for the animal. We understand that it's difficult to wait, but please don't email us multiple times a day to check on the status of your application. We are a very small group and the same people that are reviewing your application are also replying to hundreds of emails and Facebook messages. We are all volunteers and have full time jobs outside of KGARL, so any time spent replying to emails/messages is time we are not reviewing your application. All Adoptions Include: Adoption Fees (unless otherwise noted in the pet's description): Dogs: See pet's description Other Pictures of PUPPIES & MOTHER (click to see larger version):
