KGARL volunteers have been working hard at the King George County pound this year! The stats for the first 5 months of 2009 as compared to the first 5 months of 2008 at King George Animal Control are below:

In 2006, a staggering 80% of the cats and 41% of the dogs were euthanized as compared to 18% of the cats and 12% of the dogs in 2008 and only 10% of the cats and 6% of the dogs so far this year!

As you can see, our shelter volunteers have been doing an amazing job at finding rescue groups and setting up transports! No adoptable dogs have been euthanized this year!

2009: Total Received - 83, Euthanized - 8
No adoptable cats have been euthanized this year, even our ferals have been getting out!
